New Invention

The last couple of days I have been making fruit smoothies for me and Kane, I put his in a sippy cup and mine in a glass with a straw which Kane is very jealous of!  So this morning Kane comes up to me with his sippy cup of juice, he had found a straw and pushed it through the little vent hole and was drinking his juice with a straw!  Very clever Kane :)

Clever things Kane has done

Kane is such a talker, he is always saying clever things!  His latest saying is "no thanks, I full!"  he not only says this about food, but also other things like when I ask him if he wants a bath!  He knows the sounds that many animals make, he was saying "quack, quack" for his duck bath toy since he was about 10 months old!  A couple weeks ago he learnt to read the word "spotlight" (hmmm I wonder if that has anything to do with me going to spotlight every week...).  He can count to 10 with a couple of helps, I have to start him off with one, and he often misses seven, but he is getting there :)  He can say his prayer before meals: "Lord, bless, food, drink, Jesus, amen!"  but when it comes to saying "Lord, thankyou" after a meal he still says "bless" and he gets VERY annoyed when we correct him :)

Naughty things Kane has done!

Here are just some of the naughty things Kane has done:  his favourite naughty thing to do is to draw on the walls!  If anyone ever leaves a pen/pencil/marker laying around, Kane is sure to find it and draw on the walls.  He also loves to climb up onto the computer desk and play with the computer, especially turn it off when mum is busy using it!  The other day he pulled his little footstool up to my sewing desk and grabbed the scissors, he then 'cut, cut' into a nappy pack I was busy sewing!  He came to me and said "scissors!".  He loves to open tubes of cream or toothpaste and stick his finger in it and smear it all over his face!  He once found my lipstick and smeared that over our expensive bamboo bed sheets!  One day while I was having coffee at Dome, Kane found a purple marker and drew all over the leather couches!  While I am in the shower he loves to get up to mischief!  One day I found him with the sugar pot, sugar was all over the floor, his pj's, his little couch, his face and hands!  Then the very next day (after I had made sure the sugar pot was safely out of reach) he decided to open the fridge, get the cheese out and start munching on it!  Here is a photo of what the cheese looked like when I found him :)

Welcome to Kane's blog!  First of all let me tell you a little bit about Kane.  He was born on the 9th of October 2009, weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces.  He was a very cute, cuddly baby who always wanted to be held!  He first smiled at 3 weeks, looking at himself in the mirror.  His first word was "mum, mum"  at 6 1/2 months old, which soon turned into "num, num" because he liked food so much!  He was crawling at 11 months and walking at 14 months.  His favourite toys have always been things that are not toys like tv remote, mobile phone, keys, tupperware, etc.  He is a very busy, talkative, cheeky little boy who is the light of my life and I wouldn't have him any other way!
